You cannot have a successful career in real estate without experiencing rejection.
It’s part of the job.
You won’t win every listing.
Every buyer won’t choose you.
Every vendor won’t return your call.
And sometimes, despite doing everything you can, someone will simply choose another agent.

Don’t turn a business decision into a personal wound.
A vendor choosing another agent doesn’t mean you’re inadequate.
It means they made a decision.

Learn from it.
Then move forward.
Next!

Don’t spend three days emotionally recovering from something that took someone else three minutes to decide.
I learned this very early in my own real estate career.
Business cards and chocolates in hand, I went prospecting knowing it was a numbers game.
There were plenty of rejections.
But rather than taking each “No” personally, I learned to see it differently:
Every NO took me one step closer to a YES.

That mindset helped me keep knocking on doors, making calls and creating opportunities—even when rejection was uncomfortable.
As Sofia Vergara said:
“Never take no personally. Sometimes people tell you no for a reason that has nothing to do with you. You must keep going.”

So the next time you lose a listing or hear “No”, ask yourself:
What can I learn from this—and what’s my next opportunity?

Because rejection doesn’t determine your value as an agent.
What you do next matters far more.
