One of the biggest myths about confidence is that you need to feel confident before you take action.
You don’t.
In fact, it’s usually the other way around.
Action comes first. Confidence follows.
You make the call.
You ask for the appraisal.
You follow up with the vendor who hasn’t responded.
You have the difficult conversation you’ve been avoiding.

And every time you do something that feels uncomfortable, you’re quietly proving something to yourself:
“I can handle this.”
That’s how confidence is built.
Not by waiting until the fear disappears.
But by acting despite it.

When I started HS Brisbane Property in 2004, I certainly didn’t feel completely confident.
I had to find funding, survive the challenges of starting a new business and quieten that nagging voice asking:
“Can I really compete with the men around me?”

I chose to back myself!
My thinking became:
“Don’t worry about the competition. Let’s do it my way.”
And I took action.

Think about something in your business you’ve been putting off because you don’t feel confident enough.
What if you stopped waiting?

Make the call.
Have the conversation.
Ask for the opportunity.

You don’t need confidence to take the first step. Sometimes you need to take the first step to create the confidence.
