Bermagui is an attractive town on the blue waters of the Sapphire Coast. Life is good in this tight knit community and has a friendly welcoming vibe.
I enjoyed a Chai Latte at the Horseshoe Café one morning and had a chance meeting with Rachel Love-Tickle. She helps out in the Café, but is wearing several hats, just like many of us!
Rachel has not one but three beautiful children and is a real entrepreneur. In recent times she sold her successful catering business and moved from the Snowy Mountains to the beautiful beaches of Bermagui.
One of her talents is creating exquisite cakes in her business Mistery Bay Bakehouse.
Though Rachel’s real mission and purpose is supporting people with chronic injuries in her new business Sapphire Coast Muscular Therapy. In additions she is particularly passionate about helping women who like herself facing the ‘Mysterious Menopause’.
Sadly, there is still a taboo surrounding menopause. It seems MENOPAUSE is invisible in society and doesn’t even exist. Yet it effects half of the population at some point in their life’s.
Entering menopause can either be liberating or a nightmare for women and more often it’s both. Rachel’s advice when suffering from menopause symptoms is to connect with your friends and other women to share your experiences. Just knowing you’re not alone in this and have support can make all the difference.
It’s not just social well-being that is important! Living life to the fullest during menopause means looking after ‘number one’ YOU. Yes! Make time to get physical, eat healthy, socialise, and trial new things.
Why not consult a Naturopath or healthcare professional for advice.
‘Healthline’ has some tips here: Menopause tips.
I love Rachel’s wisdom to check in with your ‘besties’ and women everywhere and exchange tips and compare notes. Let’s spread the word and the awareness around menopause to empower future generations of women. Society, politicians and health care professionals need to find better solutions, provide education and really start caring for the well-being of all women.
‘It’s a time of liberation,’ Davina says, of the menopause. ‘It’s a time of shedding the shackles of inhibition and of giving a damn.’- Davina McCall
