1169 km traveled from Brisbane – Day 19 – Temp 32/23 – yeppoon to bowen
After action packed Yeppoon we enjoyed four lazy days at Barracrab camp ground / Clairview. Soaking up the salty sea air, a spot of fishing with little luck. Just four little onces and I carefully released them and dinner had to wait. A few large turtles also stalked my bait ( yummy prawns ) and I was keeping an eye on them as they popped their heads out of the waves. Then we skipped along the Hibiscus Coast to sleepy Seaforth. It was unnervingly quiet and lovely falling asleep to the sounds of crashing waves.
From there we stopped at Hydeaway Bay at the top end of the Whitsundays, where it was even more secluded. There is a beautiful beach and the waters are crystal clear. We couldn’t resist a quick dip, ignoring the stinger signs once again. We mingled with the locals at the Bowls club a couple of nights and they were just lovely and full credit to them for having built a great welcoming community.
We’re now at Bowen enjoying Horseshoe Bay, a little windy at 30km / hours so snorkeling has to wait! Its a lovely setting on the peninsula with granite rock boulders and great walking tracks with 360 degree views of the coast line and inland hills.
We are moving on this Wednesday the 1st of March towards Townsville ‘Let’s see where the wind blows us?’
Oh the serenity at Barracrab / Clairview
Hannah das sind wieder wunderschöne Fotos. Seid vorsichtig wegen den Krokodilen.

Danke Familie Stolz, wir haben einen gesunden Respekt für die Krokodile 👍
