We’re in love with Esperance WA. It’s another highlight on our around Australia adventure. The experiences here were special in every sense.
The natural sights were amazing and so was having met some of the most beautiful people.
Our path crossed with Katrina Banks and her colleague Jessie Howson. Two fun, upbeat and compassionate carers from Perth. They effortlessly help Tom, who is confined to a wheelchair, to live his best life.
I watched in amazement how Katrina and Jessie filled Tom’s days with joy and made a meaningful difference in his life. A boat trip around Esperance’s islands, a swim in the pool, pub outings with Tom’ s favourite ‘live music’ and dancing and even a four-wheel drive tour to the beach.
Not to mention all the other daily tasks that makes us humans function, that are all executed with big smiles.
Chatting with Kat (Katrina) was a humbling experience. Her kindness and passion for serving others shone through.
She can see the bigger picture and encourages especially young people NOT TO SWEAT THE SMALL STUFF!
Kat and Jessie thank you for a beautiful lesson in kindness xx.
